Equine Assisted Therapy
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) incorporates horses into the therapeutic process. The Arena opens the door for the client to safely exit their comfort zone and enter a space of externalizing their story, enhancing their sense of self, and exploring their relationships with the world and others. As vigilant flight herd animals, horses are sensitive to human body language and internal states, providing a unique aspect to the therapeutic process and a level of connection not available in an in-room setting. Sessions range from nondirective and quiet to directive and active, depending on the personal needs of each client. Expect God to reveal the hidden things you need to heal and grow through the use of His majestic creatures, horses.
Equine Assisted Learning
Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) utilizes the environment of The Arena and the unique feedback of horses to address areas of personal growth. EAL has been empirically supported to enhance interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, enhance the sense of self and self-efficacy, as well as benefit parenting skills and family communication. Participants of EAL are not under the routine care of a clinician of RBC or their affiliates and participate in sessions with the intention of seeking temporary guidance in personal growth.

At Restoration Biblical Counseling of Cypress, we are dedicated to providing compassionate counseling services to individuals and families through Biblical principles, a trauma-informed lens, and the unique modality of Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) and Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). Our goal is to empower our clients to achieve God's purpose for their life and to grow in their relationship with Him.
Our Approach
Our experienced counselors use various evidence-based EAP techniques, incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy, TBRI, metaphor, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, and others to help our clients overcome trauma, negative thought patterns, and behaviors. We believe in a holistic approach to mental health, addressing the soul, mind, and body.
Our Team
Our team comprises licensed therapists, board-certified Christian Counselors, and interns who specialize in various areas, including depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. Our clinicians work from a Biblical perspective, are TBRI trained, and are attachment focused. We are dedicated to providing personalized care to each of our clients and are committed to ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on the latest research and techniques.
